Our why
We are easing obstacles to health and wellbeing. It’s your boss and your parents and your kids and your job. It’s your upbringing and your service and your lack of “any time for this at all.” It’s your good enough and your too tired and your ego and your elephant brain. We’re all struggling with the same stuff.
But a better life is possible with tiny changes. For us, it was a Vitamix blender and a handful of recipes that changed our life.
Our story
In 2012 I was overworked, overweight, and a total mess. Once I got a Vitamix, I lost 40 pounds and decided to leave corporate consulting to make health and wellness my life’s work. Being the authority on Vitamix blenders wasn’t the original plan, but it is who we are today. We are dedicated to serving this community for as long as we possibly can.
Pronounced no-yolk, noyoke was originally wordplay. Think egg whites. They’re often used by people early in their healthy lifestyle journey. “Egg white omelet, please!” It’s this idea of small steps in the right direction that remains the core ethos behind Life is NOYOKE. Today, we use the Vitamix as a means to that end.
More about us: I grew up in Minnesota, studied accounting and finance at UW-Madison, got a CPA, and lived in Chicago for ten years where I met Shalva. She also grew up here, though we didn’t know each other, and got a master’s in industrial organizational psychology from Depaul. I eat plant-based 99% of the time, and she is a proud never-vegan. We have three kids under six so have our hands very full as Mama and Dada.
